LILAC DREAMS MINK-KIT

oops...sorry the first link was messed up... hopefully you've all come back for the fixed up link!! (should have coffee BEFORE I upload) LOL!

I sort of went wild making patterns yesterday - the result was this mini kit. Hopefully you will get good use of it!

It sounds like everyone got pretty spoiled for Christmas! I hope you get an opportunity to read back through yesterday's comments to find up what specifically everyone got but a fair covering of it includes laptops(Kat), photoshop software for some luckies (he he, NOW you will be busy learning!) (VJ) a sweet kitten (Becky) and the most 'dorable lil doggie (Joy) and last but not least - Sandy said she got a coat - but most important about her coat is that it makes her 'feel good'.

Sandy's comment got me thinking. I have a few clothing items that make me feel good when I wear them too. Somedays when I wake up and feel out of sorts, these few items are gaurenteed to bring me a degree of comfort and confidence when I wear them. Isn't it funny how a slight variation of cut or color or a certain fabric next to your skin can make you feel special. Do YOU have a favorite piece of clothing you like to wear or makes you feel good? I would love to hear about it. Pics gladly accepted too - to be featured here if you wish!

You know, my faith is like my favorite clothing items. Sometimes when I wake to find myself unsettled I am promted to seek out some quiet time in God's word. Just the same as I choose what to wear for the day, on days like these I choose to spend close time with the Lord so that I feel His peace settle around my shoulders like a warm cozy sweater. I feel protected from the world and confident that I can go through my day knowing that I've given it over to Him. Since I've asked Him to work His purpose through my every action I can rest in trust that no matter what I have to do this day, He is in it. Won't you pray before you go about your day?

A day hemmed in prayer is less likely to unravel.

Phillipians 4:6-7 (tlb)

Pray about everything....
If you do this you will experience God's Peace....
His peace will keep your thoughts and hearts quiet and at rest.

Kit: Kristin CB's Beauty

I actually found time to scrap a bit over the holidays! I loved using Kristin CB's new Beauty kit to create this layout of our lovely nieces Rachel and Karly. (you girls turned into young ladies when we were not looking!) Kristin has just launched this kit, along with 3 others at A Cherry On Top - please drop over to check them out - you truly can't get a sense of how fine her work is without a closup view - but trust me, they are georgeous! Also, she's offering all six kits for a small sum as well. You can find her beautiful kits HERE! (be sure to click on each thumbnail to see the kit preview larger!) I hope to make a few more layouts in the coming days.

Here's a few funnies to start your New Year's week:

Two antennas met on a roof, fell in love and got married. The ceremony wasn't much, but the reception was excellent.

Two cannibals are eating a clown. One says to the other: "Does this taste funny to you?"

An invisible man marries an invisible woman. The kids were nothing to look at either

What do you call a fish with no eyes? A fsh.

Two Eskimos sitting in a kayak were chilly, so they lit a fire in the craft. Unsurprisingly it sank, proving once again that you can't have your kayak and heat it too.

BARB'S HANDY TIP #163
A Great Scrapping Resource

I've been digi-scrapping so long that I forget what it was like when I first started. I do remember that I had many 'hands up' to help me through. Gosh, if I could count the hours my friend Sonya spent tutoring me online... good thing you didn't charge me girl - my bank woulda gone broke!

We all need a mentor to guide us along - won't you be that 'someone' to a newbie? If you need a good resource to help them get started too, I have located the perfect book to help! I found this book in a Chapters store up here in Canada. Its very thourough and simple, covering everything from making layouts from digital kits to creating your own elements. Best part of all? Its only $15.99... thats Canadian so for you folks in the USA it should be less yet!

Digital Scrapbooking in easy steps lives up to its title claim. In compact, easy-to-understand tutorials, this full color paperback teaches you the basics of putting pictures together; making and changing simple backgrounds; frames, borders, and mats; type and text options; journaling; embellishing and layering; and improving and enhancing your photos. This invaluable manual then walks you through three actual projects, enabling you to create your own digital scrapbooks before you have even finished the book!

Alternately, if you would like a free online book that goes over the basics you can find one here:
