I just made a small assortment of tapes yesterday as I am working on another project as well. Loving all the suggestions coming in - and your encouraging comments as well! Thanks so much.


Dave and Cathy don't 'do' the internet, don't have a computer atall (I know, very rare these days) but you never know where they might see this! Dave and Cathy have been faithful members to our Church over the past few years and good friends. We wish you all the very best as you move to Alberta to be closer to your family. I heard a very interesting article on NPR on Saturday morning. It was entirely about crickets and other insects, 77 in all, which sing. Why they sing etc... two authors have written a book on the subject. They give some sound samples on the article (Gina, you will love listening to this article!) I also listened to an article that my brother Barry and Sister Judy would be interested in - being the fishers that you are... its on the spread of a virus in fish in the northeastern states of USA. It sounds like its devastating to anglers and people who rely on them for people who take folks out to fish - and it's mostly been spread unwittingly by humans. You can listen to the article HERE


Great message during yesterday's message yesterday - very encouraging, coming out of both Job and Lamentations. Yes - imagine! Pastor assured us that tho God allows trials in our lives, they're for our good- though we can't see that, and we struggle instead of giving it up to Him. The following points are good to keep in your heart if you are going through the fire right now:

God is not against me. He doesn't WILLINGLY allow bad things to happen to me. He WANTS all my troubles to end!

Lamentations 3:33

For he does not willingly bring affliction

or grief to the children of men.

The Lord wants to help us - He's waiting for you to ask Him... He can't help without your asking Him.

Lamentations 3:25 - 26

The LORD is good to those whose hope is in him,

to the one who seeks him;

it is good to wait quietly

for the salvation of the LORD.

His love is unfailing.

Lamentations 3:32

Though he brings grief, he will show compassion,

so great is his unfailing love.

And there is HOPE - daily, His mercies renewed EVERY MORNING.

Lamentations 3:21 - 23

Yet this I call to mind

and therefore I have hope:

Because of the LORD's great love we are not consumed,

for his compassions never fail.

They are new every morning;

great is your faithfulness

What a powerful, powerful message of hope - thanks Pastor Ed, for your word - right on, again!

    Lovely tapes today I like the fruits! What a great sermon you must have had yesterday! I finally got to attend services yesterday after 2 weeks of no one doing the nursery care. Well I'm of to play with the monkey.

    Hello Mrs. Miles, thanks again for your fruity tapes...they are on my freebielist again... thanks for sharing...
    oh and I have another idea for tapes..Im not sure if anybody requested it yet but how about some "DAD" tape since fathers day is coming up soon and something for 4th of July...oh and how about some lolipops?

  14. Happy Monday my friend! Only 3 more days for me to SURVIVE at work (and I think this week will be all about survival) and then by this time next Monday I shall be able to take in a bit o'relaxation.

    Met Dave & Cathy lastnight cuz we went to Cowboy Church on our way home from Kelowna which was really cool. Love the church up there. It felt very homey with the old wooden pews! What a dear lady Cathy is. I'm sad I didn't meet her before this. Such a sweetheart!
