You folks are TOO KIND! I know you're all so busy - we all are, but you took the time to leave some appreciation, and it means a lot to me. Thanks also to you for your suggestions for new tapes. I've compiled a BIG list of ideas - so I hope you won't get tired of them. Keep the ideas rolling - you dream, I'll create!
Yesterday WAS fun! Believe it or not, we were up and out on the lake by 7 a.m. with a friend for a ride in a boat. The water was a sheet of glass and the air was buttery soft. We were out for about an hour, making a large loop along the shores of our beautiful lake. It was an eye-opener to see all the development along the shores - you just can't see it all from the roads. It was thrilling to watch the shore slip by in a spray of water, glinting like diamonds!
If this were not enough, Miles took me to yard sales, where we scooped several 'treasures'. He was horrified as I 'bargained' with some folks for what he already considered a great deal - but was in admiration when they actually reduced the prices for me! Seemed like most sales yesterday were the type where no reasonable offer was refused. It was breakfast at McD's - yes, sad as it is, I crave a nice greasy, fattening sausage McMuffin someday!
And, then we drove east of town and up into the hills to get some photos of the beautiful wildflowers and critters. There are many new developments happening up among the hills to the east - and we were wowwed by how much our town is swelling. Pretty prestigious up there!
I thought I might share some of my heart from this past week with you. This has been such a week of encouragement. Encouragement from you to me, and encouragement I find I've been receiving and unbeknown to me until now, giving. I had a dear friend sit next to me at the school and tell me that she found simply to sit next to me and soak up my presence, was encouraging to her. I can't tell you how this moved me... our friend is an older woman who has in her past, been a missionary in India for years in her past. She's a fount of Godly Wisdom and kind words and has been a complete inspiration to both Miles and I over the years. Lately she's been struggling - she's been feeling dry, very dry and uninspired, and uninspiring, we've all been there before. What a blessing to be used to 'whet' her... to whet her appetite for desire to be creative, to fellowship with me as a sister. What an honour the Lord would use me, a younger woman, with far less experience and knowledge, to encourage her at her time of need.
I've had several other gifts of encouragement over the past short while, and each time it's been like receiving a jewel. Won't you reach out to someone you know and encourage them? Whether its someone close to you, or someone you know barely - pray and ask the Lord to use you to bless someone's life. Trust that whom you choose to build up is in need of the words or kind deed you can give them. Somehow, I always find, that by giving - I receive something special in return in the form of fellowship, friendship and gratitude.
Everyone has an invisible sign hanging from his neck saying, "Make me feel important"
Therefore encourage one another and build each other up, just as in fact you are doing.
1 Thessalonians 5:11
Friendship is God's special way of loving us through someone else.
"A friend loves at all times"
Proverbs 17:17
Life goes headlong. We chase some flying scheme, or we are hunted by some fear or command behind us. But if suddenly we encounter a friend, we pause, our heat and hurry look foolish enough; now pause, now possession, is required, and the power to swell the moment from the resources of the heart. The moment is all, in all noble relations... A friend is the hope of the heart. - Ralph Waldo Emerson

ReplyDeleteI see you found our friendly Sasquatch! My dear brother worked there last year fueling the generators for the water wells, I guess the water table needed to be tested before they moved forward with the homes, I have been told there are several other division markers, Black tailed deer for one, did you see him, he really was a white tail deer but painted with black, some kind of order mix up, the developer doesn't even know!
