YARD SALE BUYS AND TIP # 2

YELLOW FLOWER ELEMENT

Yesterday's Jumble Sale was a success. Miles woke me up early so we could get there right at eight - thats when I'm always told the 'good stuff' is put out. I found a nice little radio to put in our office. We have radios in most other rooms in our house, but not one here. On the occaisonal time the radio has a good concert on we always pine for an extra radio, so when this one came up for $2 I could not pass it by. I also bought an Eddie Bauer thermal coffee mug - practically spill-proof so it was made just for me. I bought 7 clear, round spice jars - matching ones for the van. You pay $1 each for these little bottles in the dollar stores - and with a good bleaching these will be just fine. I really like the CD carry case I bought - it holds 4 CD's on each page and has 18 pages! It has a nice soft ultra-suede cover in a rich burgundy color.
But my favorite buy - my very favorite, is the John Gnany's TV Master Art Studio! ($2) This is the most hilarious collectable thing I have seen in a while. It comes with all sorts of wonderful things, including...get this..."The Amazing Mr. Twist Plastic Artist Manikin. He's Indistructable."

And last, but not least is my tip for today!

BARB'S TIP #2

If you want clean and sparkly windows and don't like using harsh cleaners, etc, simply wad up a nice sheet of your daily newspaper, wet it a bit and go at it. Newspaper without any cleaner of any kind works to make your windows so clean you will have to stand there all day to scare the birds away. Trust me! P.S. - your windows will be clean, but your hands will be black - so be careful you go wash them right away, or better yet, wear rubber gloves!

  2. I use water and a squeegy on my windows. I take a clean sponge, get it wet, wipe it around the window and squeegy it off. I do have to use a bit of papertowel or tissue to wipe the squeegy off a time or two... but it's cheap. Esp if you don't have newspaper (but, errr... you would have to have a squeegy!! LOL!)~G
