WONDER IF THERE ARE 'FLOATING YARD SALES'?

BLUE FLOWER ELEMENT
First off, before I forget, Jean, can you please send me your email address and I will zip a frog element for you. I created it a while back for my sister Nina who's nickname is Knottyfrog... just send me an email at lalalime@hotmail.com
I was enjoying the thrill of speaking to my friend Janice on our cordless phone (bought at the last yardsale, we have never had one before, archaic hey?), when my Fair Prince burst through the front door, toungue lolling, and gasped out "There's an emergency!" I hung up immediately and he told me the van had died on him on a corner by McDonalds, blocking the road onto the main highway. I should have BCAA speed dialed into my phone by now, and they should all know my voice - this is our fourth call this year alone! We have a persistant problem with our vehicle and have been plagued with it malfunctioning. Once help was confirmed on the way I speedwalked (should have changed those flimsy sandals!) to the scene and waited with Miles until the tow truck driver arrived. What was it we were supposed to witness into his life we've missed in the past? Thats what came to my mind as we have had to be towed before with the same driver, all the way to Summerland for a 2 hour drive...
Most folks, when I tell them about our trouble immediately comfort me. I think its a surprise when I tell them that I view it as a blessing. When they ask me why I list the following reasons:
1. we vacation for six weeks of the summer - its better now than then (who knows where we might be?) I want this fixed before summer.
2. Miles had the weekend unstructured - usually we have appointments lined up end to end
3. the breakdown was close to home - Miles had called our print framer and found out our prints were not ready - he could have been 1/2 way down to the U.S. border
4. he was on his way HOME from the grocery store - groceries bought, paid for and in the van, I simply carried them home
There are actually more reasons, but these are the main ones. God is so Good! I can feel His hand upon us - we just have to be looking for it in all situations!
Psalm 106:1
Praise the LORD.
Give thanks to the LORD,
for he is good;
his love endures forever.
Yesterday turned out to be a day of flowers. I already had one bouquet displayed which I had gathered from my friend Amalia's garden, which I have unlimited access to - two doors down. Later in the day I heard a knock at the door and found my friend Alicia on the step with a georgeous bundle of flowers and a lovely card to say thank you for creating the birthday album for her mum. Mum now has the album delivered, she will be presented on Tuesday morning. I must say I am thoroughly impressed with mypublisher.com!
The other bouquet is a gift from my sweet friend Rose. She had called earlier, advising me she may leave 'something' on my patio. I discovered two bags which contained some lovely honeysuckle branches and in the second bag this beauiful little vase with the following instructions:
Leave this vase on its side
until the lavender is dried, then stand it up and enjoy all year.
BARB'S TIP # 31
Bounce Sheets Are Not Just For the Dryer!
Janice is turning out to be a goldmine for tips - she told me that she places Bounce dryer sheets over her vents for a few moments to freshen the air. She also told me that someone close to her had an email forwarded which had many uses for Bounce sheets, so I did some research and found this information on the internet for you:
It will chase ants away when you lay a sheet near them. It takes the odor out of books and photo albums that don't get opened too often. Repels mosquitoes. Tie a sheet of Bounce through a belt loop when outdoors during mosquito season. Eliminates static electricity from your television screen. Since Bounce is designed to help eliminate static cling, wipe your television screen with a used sheet of Bounce to keep dust from resettling. Dissolve soap scum from shower doors. Clean with a sheet of Bounce. Freshen the air in your home. Place an individual sheet of Bounce in a drawer or hang in the closet. Prevent thread from tangling. Run a threaded needle through a sheet of Bounce before beginning to sew. Prevent musty suitcases. Place an individual sheet of Bounce inside empty luggage before storing. Freshen the air in your car. Place a sheet of Bounce under the front seat. Clean baked-on foods from a cooking pan. Put a sheet in a pan, fill with water, let sit overnight, and sponge clean. The antistatic agent apparently weakens the bond between the food and the pan while the fabric softening agents soften the baked-on food. Eliminate odors in wastebaskets. Place a sheet of Bounce at the bottom of the wastebasket. Collect cat hair. Rubbing the area with a sheet of Bounce will magnetically attract all the loose hairs. Eliminate static electricity from venetian blinds. Wipe the blinds with a sheet of Bounce to prevent dust from resettling. Wipe up sawdust from drilling or sand papering. A used sheet of Bounce will collect sawdust like a tack cloth. Eliminate odors in dirty laundry. Place an individual sheet of Bounce at the bottom of a laundry bag or hamper. Deodorize shoes or sneakers. Place a sheet of Bounce in your shoes or sneakers overnight so they will smell better in the AM. I also heard that by putting one near or by where mice come in, it will keep them out of motor homes, campers, etc.
If you want to copy just the above information, highlight the text you want to print, on your browser select file, print and when the dialogue box comes up for your printer, choose PRINT SELECTION. This way you will print only what you have selected.
Have a Blessed Day!

  1. It is so refreshing to meet someone who thinks like I do! It's all good.

I have had numberous friends ask me how I have such a positive attitude with all I go through. Honestly, I don't see it as going through. It happens, we deal with it (though God) and it passes by. It is all a matter of attitude. How you look at it determines how you will weather it. Thanks for being a woman of God!

Thanks for the tips : I actually do all my dusting with a used sheet of Bounce to keep dust from resettling on my furniture, etc... and since Bounce is designed to help eliminate static cling, when I am at work (office)I put one on my seatto prevent my skirt to cling. We have carpet all over the place; just make sure it doesn't stick to your bum when you get up! LOL. Valerie
