TODAY'S YOURS, LORD!

FUNKY BLUE ELEMENT

download

Yesterday we went downtown for our Dim Sum date at our favorite little bakery. On our way home, just before we turned up the alley, off of the highway, to head home, my eye caught a line of signs up the road. It struck me right away that I instantly knew each symbol - McDonalds, A & W, 7 -11 etc. As we trudged toward our house my mind dwelled on this thought and it occured to me that I want to be like those signs. My desire would be that I walk so closely to our Lord, that when people see me, they see our Lord. Just as these companys work hard to keep their reputation spotless (to the point of hiring lawyers) I should keep my life clean - after all it represents His work in my life. Just as the companies set out rules and regulations, our Lord is clear in what is expected of us, and we should work hard to keep ourselves in line with His word. My life should be transparent - God's hand in my life should be clear. I desire for His name to be stamped on my heart, and on my life - I want to be accountable in all areas.

PSALM 25:21

May integrity and uprightness protect me,

because my hope is in you.

On our walk, even though it was a rainy day and we were hesitant to take our camera with us, God's beautiful creation was revealed to us in these tiny rain drops shining on these burgundy leaves, like little drops of mercury.

Sweetening Melons

With summer here, if you're like me you will be buying melons. There is nothing quite so disappointing as finding your melon is flat - not sweet. If this is the case try this trick. Sprinkle the cut halves with a bit of salt and leave for 15 to 20 minutes before serving. The salt causes the melon to taste sweet!
