MELISSA'S BIRTHDAY MOUSE

HAPPY BIRTHDAY MELISSA! Uncle Miles and I hope you have a wonderful day! We heard you are having pizza and some freinds come celebrate, so now we have to have pizza too. If we get fat its all your fault, hey? Ah, we know you will still love us as always.

OUR GROWN UP NIECE, MELISSA!

We had our friends Penny and Del and some of their children come visit us last night. Penny has a permanent link on my blog - for her music site. She's a very talented musician. The children baked us our very own miniature gingerbread house...just the right size for me and Mr. Miles to eat. Gee, pizza and gingerbread houses... well lets throw any diet thougths straight outta our heads until January, right? I cooked up a batch of apple stuffed crepes using my nifty maxim electric crepe maker - its teflon so no mess! We topped them off with a big scoop of ice cream. mmm... Thanks Del, Penny and girls for a fun time together and we missed you Lacey, and hope you will drop in for a visit one day when you come down to teach ballet. Our home is open any time to you.

MAKING CREPES WITH THE JOHNSONS

My friend Mavis sent me an email describing a sweet tradition she began for her children for christmas in their younger years. With her permission I am publishing it. Thanks Mavis!

MAVIS'S CHRISTMAS STOCKING

I have two sons (now 28 + 30) and they still love all the little Christmas traditions. Do you remember the chocolate calendar? I found that too expensive when the boys were little, so I hung a small stocking on a 3ft. artificial Christmas tree (the boy's Christmas tree) and everyday I would put a small piece of chocolate into their stocking. They still want that tradition to continue.

Do you have a Christmas Tradition you would like to share with my other readers? I would love it if you sent your ideas for publication here.

I will wait on the oxymorons on the weekend, and pick them up again Monday. I will share a Christmas joke with you though... In sharing this one I want you to be clear that I do have the utmost respect for behind what Christmas really means. I also have complete empathy for people who suffer with disorders as well. I know though, that its healthy to have a sense of good clean humour at about such things as well. My intent in sharing this with you is not to offend you, only to humour you. I apologise if I'm wrong, I do try to be sensative.

  1. lol!! now, I have a form of bipolar disorder, and I find those songs very funny! :-) but then, I long ago found the ability to laugh at myself, when a daily walk with others fighting off depression was referred to as a gathering of the "nut patrol". you're right, though, to be sensitive about the issue -- but I've always thought it's different when you think others are laughing at you, and not with you! Laughter, in general, is good for the body and soul -- thanks! :-)

  5. You are just too silly! I love the squirrel BTW! And why wasn't I invited for crepes? I only get them when I make them for myself, makes me sad. Tell Melissa Happy Birthday day from a complete stranger for me! Hope your weekend is going well! Can I just say one of your papers is killing me because I want to use it in a QP but can't so I'm having to make something else, when it's perfect. Oh well, I'll get over it soon I'm sure. But you make such great stuff. Take care and see you here tomorrow!
