A “delightful” FREEBIE for YOU!

Once in a while I just get this undeniable hankering to build a cutting file and with this sudden switch in hot weather slamming us I decided to create something cool and refreshing.

I always have my husband shaking his head at me because I find inspiration in the oddest (and probably the most inconvenient) places.  This week we were filling up Sebastian (our VW Vanagon) and I espied the ice storage over by the side of the gas station.  You know the sort of ice chest thing with the pebbled metal door with a handle which you open up to grab a bag or brick of ice out of?

Well, the sun just happened to be shining on it, toward evening so a gentle mellow sun, and after making my Mr. pause the nozzle of the gas hose and jostling past… Well it was just lovely, the bright orange reflection of my shirt on that silvery mercury-bumped metal surface and I snapped a few photos.  I did not know then this would transform into the texture for my Popsicle!

I made a “flat” version of this popsicle in Photoshop first, then I overlaid the texture over the colored part.  I also snagged a free wood texture off of the internet to make the sticks look real.

Here are the supplies I used to make my card:

Popsicle Element - Barb Derksen

Designer Paper - Tres Jolie by My Mind’s Eye

Stamp - Studio G

Ink - Colorbox Queue warm red

Ribbon - Dollarama

Punch - Fiskars7

Glitter - dollar store

Before I put the Popsicle onto the card I ran a wide stick of glue over it and “glittered” it up with a pretty orange glitter!

I’m so tickled with how this turned out.  I have saved this file in all sorts of formats for you.

I’ve saved it as a fully layered PSD file, then I broke all the parts down to separate PNG files.  I saved all files to .studio files.  I saved the coloured and textured files as well.

These files are for your PERSONAL USE only.  I am forced to create quite a few of my own cutting files because I cannot afford the commercial use fees charged from some retailers - I make cards for sale on a small scale.  I have a heart to help out so I do grant some commercial use with permission from me.  So if you would like to use my files for commercial purposes please email me and we will talk.  My email is included with my download files in the Terms of Use.  We are a one-income family and I choose not to litter up my blog with tons of ads so you feel safe visiting here but it would be nice for me to generate some income from your visits so in the near future my husband will be adding a DONATE button here on my blog and if you’re feeling generous then perhaps you can hit it now and again with a dollar or two.  It all adds up and it enables me to stay home and do this and … bless YOU!

Without further ado - here’s the download for my sweet Popsicle:

I will also place this file into the PAGES tab of both the free .studio files and the freebies vault too.  I’d love to see what you make using my files, why not send me a jpg (email address included in my Terms of Use in download) and I’ll feature you on my blog!
