Happy birthday to our niece Patty. Yesterday you were a little girl playing grown-up... today you are the grown up with a giggling gaggle of beautiful girls of your own! Who knew? We enjoy as watching your lovely family raises up. We wish you every happiness for your special day.

Thanks for sharing your BEE-YEW-TEE-FUL layout Kim, I am honored to have my element on your elegant creation! If you love this layout as much as I do you will have to scoot over to Kim's Blog to scoop it as a template, complete with stitching! Wow - you're too generous Kim. Please don't forget to leave some gratitude with attitude for the girl when you visit!

I'm so glad – I've managed to clean out and organize several drawers and cupboards about the house in between the rest of life clamoring about me! What a good feeling this is. Things are settling into a routine again. The students are come back to the school, me among them – everyone safe and sound and eager to learn.

I feel like life is one giant multi-task these days. I'm being pressed on every side – but I keep reminding myself that ALL things are possible through our Lord. The bible tells us to be anxious in NOTHING (Phillipians 4:6 Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.) And isn't this so true? Being anxious robs us of the Joy in the moment. It causes us to live in another moment than the one we are in now. It causes us to be either living in the past, or worrying about the future, which won't change it. All it will do is create a negative tension which will reside inside you.

If you have worries or seemingly insurmountable tasks facing you today, if you have things or thoughts in your life which are hindering you from experiencing all the goodness God has in store for you today – won't you simply give each and every item to the Lord, in prayer? Write down each thing and petition Him for wisdom and discernment as to what is essential today, right now. In a few days, look back and see how He answered your requests. You will be amazed. Keep in mind, if you think your prayer was not answered, look again, for often our requests were not answered in a completely physical or literal way, but they HAVE been answered. Our God is good ALL THE TIME.

Don't be always putting off

The things you mean to do,

Answering that letter,

Picking up the phone,

Speaking to an absent friend

Who's feeling all alone.

Tackle one job every day,

That's waiting to be done -

A job that you've been putting off

A job that could be... FUN!

It's interesting how in this poem that the writer does not seem to be talking about 'housework' jobs or chores! Those things will get looked after... or not, but if you died tomorrow, what would you like to be remembered for having gotten crossed off THE list... dishes, dust bunnies, or coffee and visit with a dear friend?

I came across this funny little item yesterday I just have to share with you – a little thing about when we 'assume' things:

There were once four people – Everybody, Somebody, Anybody and Nobody. There was an important job to be done and Everybody was asked to do it. Everybody was sure that Somebody would do it. Anybody could have done it, but in the end Nobody did it. Somebody got very angry over this because it was really Everybody's job. Everybody thought Anybody would do it, but Nobody realized that Everybody wouldn't do it. It ended up that Everybody blamed Somebody when actually Nobody had asked anybody.

I'm still working on a list of marriage related resources for you all – it will get done... sometime soon, I hope! In the meantime, I came across this marriage blessing from India which is beautiful:

Now for you, there is no rain

For one is shelter to the other.

Now for you, the sun shall not burn

For one is shelter to the other.

Now for you, nothing is hard or bad

For the goodness and badness is taken

By one for the other.

Now for you, there is no night

For one is light to the other.

Now for you, the snow has ended always

For one is protection for the other.

It is that way, from now on, from now on.

Now it is good and there is always food,

and now there is always drink,

And now there is comfort,

Now there is no loneliness.

(Is this how you make your spouse feel?)

  2. Hey!

How timely your scripture quote ... I woke up anxious and in a worry over my new sewing machine. It has never worked right for me since I bought it a year ago. I'm just hoping the place where I bought it will really check it out and see. It was an awfully expensive lemon if it is a lemon! I end up resorting to my 35 year old $100 Kenmore. I know it isn't worth stewing about ... but my mind won't let it go.

    TTFN ... Cic

  6. Beautiful poems and very funny the Everybody, Somebody, etc story. :)

The Indian poem, is lovely and honestly I don't think you need to be married to feel that way. You can feel that way being married and that's the ideal, but I'm sure it's not necessary and if you are happy with your life you can feel that way. There are lots of things around that can make you make happy and there is beauty and love in many, many things around you. :)

Thanks so much for sharing all this with us and best wishes. :O)
