Clear It Out Challenge - Kids & Bright Colors!

------

FIRSTLY - if you arrived here hoping to download some of my FREE files, and they do not work, please be patient.  Seems the service I was using (Ge.tt) got up and went (I did recall something about them selling)  Well it has kind of created a nightmare for me.  I need to re-upload the files (I will use my Google Drive) but it will take some time.  If there is a file you particularly need or want, please send me an email request at lalalime(at)hotmail{dot}com  Thank you!

I was thrilled to find this fun challenge because I hardly ever seem to make children themed cards and I bought a fun 6 x 6 pad like 6 months ago, expressly for that. Here’s the challenge:

Clear It Out Challenge - March 11, 2014:

This Week's challenge

Theme:   Kids (use a picture of a child or a card for a child)

Stash: Bright coloured paper

So I did, I made a child’s card using part of my stash!

Can you see how fun this is?  So, the main “rocket” element (the biggie) is not part of the pad, actually.  The background is what I started with.  I found another paper that matched closely in the colors already present in the background paper.  I then drew the rocket onto it freehand!

Then I shaded the rocket in using my Tombow markers, added some lines to make the “supports?” look 3d.  Next, I added foil bits and some jazzy big gems onto the side.

And as for a sentiment, I printed and cut some text using my Cameo (not using the sketch pens) and then I popped them on tags under the side of the rocket.  I enhanced the BLAST by backing it with more sparkly red (can’t have too much sparkle or color on a kid’s card, eh?) and then backing it and the rocket both with foam tape.

So glad you popped in!
