My friend Kristin is coming today!!! We met about 6 months ago in a chat at Scrapbook-Bytes and began chatting. She lives over in southeastern BC, in a community not far from my brother and sister in law Neti. Turns out she and her husband are headed this way to see their folks in Westbank, a few hours drive from here. I am so excited and happy! I have met so many wonderful, wonderful people at SBB, and I have developed some deep friendships there. Its amazing that most are Christians as well, so we have a lot to share.
PSALM 126:2
Our mouths were filled with laughter,
our tongues with songs of joy.
Then it was said among the nations,
"The LORD has done great things for them."
I thought I would supply a little humour today - give Monday a boot and stir things up for you! I found these little misprints or rather, not well thought out additions for Church Bullitens:
At the evening service tonight, the sermon topic will be "What is Hell?" Come early and listen to our choir practice. Eight new choir robes are currently needed, due to the addition of several new members and to the deterioration of some older ones.
Miss Charlene Mason sang "I will not pass this way again" giving obvious pleasure to the congregation.
The church will host an evening of fine dining, superb entertainment, and gracious hostility.
Potluck supper Sunday at 5:00 pm.-prayer and medication to follow.
The ladies of the Church have cast off clothing of every kind. They may be seen in the basement on Friday afternoon.
The pastor would appreciate it if the ladies of the congregation would lend him their electric girdles for the pancake breakfast next Sunday morning.
Low Self Esteem Support Group will meet Thursday at 7 PM. Please use the back door
Weight Watchers will meet at 7 PM at the First Presbyterian Church. Please use large double door at the side entrance.
In reading these jokes, I realize that they can be enjoyed for a simple reason - most of our needs are met and we can relax and appreciate them. It would be impossible to enjoy them if our minds were consumed with meeting our spiritual, emotional or physical needs. Thank you, Lord for everything you have given me, today. Thank you that I can laugh and enjoy life!
HAVE A WONDERFUL DAY!
BARB'S TIP # 33
Scenting Stored Clothes
Chances are you've already stored away your winter clothes, but its not too late to add a perfume sample from a magazine, or the drugstore ontop and re-seal. Moths are, by nature, drawn to the smell of wool and the fragrance acts like a repellent by hiding the wool's scent. When you bring your clothes out in fall they will smell wonderful!
Great start to the day and secondly Barb I loved my banner thanks ...everyone should check it out.

Hi Barb!
ReplyDeleteYou had dropped by my blog a while ago and I have only been able to visit yours today. Sorry it took a while. I see you're at SBB often? I consider SBB my home site too but haven't been around much lately as the kids are becoming a handful.
I hope to get to know you though and see your work around SBB.
God bless!
Thanks so much for this cute element!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the tips. On a lighter note, I was wondering what the pastor was going to do with all the ladies' electric "girdles" at the pancake breakfast. Perhaps the ladies in Weight Watchers are serving & are wanting to watch their waistlines? (smiles)
ReplyDeleteHi Barb! Thanks for so much for the beautiful button. You know me I am a big fan of yours. I am so glad you can meet one of your friends. I met my husband over the internet. We will talk about that another time. Take Care and God Bless!
ReplyDeleteIn His Love,
dulci
