I seem to be on a roll today, the cards are happening and no major mess-ups yet

I was attracted right off to the (photo) black, white and soft pink theme.

I like the boldness of the black and whites, the pretty pastel floral and sequins really stand out against it.
Today’s Photo
Whenever I see a chandelier or chandelier type item with crystals dangling I get a picture in my mind of my younger brother (he passed away some time ago) When he was just a little feller he would pull one of those little red wagons around the streets of the small town we lived in. Everyone knew him, and generally he was headed from our house up to our Grandma’s house with his wagon, and rarely did he return home with it empty. Most likely he had a ball of dough or some small trinket from Grandma.
While he walked along he sort of swayed to his own music, which he hummed out loud. He was way ahead of the times, didn’t need an ipod, just sang himself whatever he knew! One song he liked to sing and hum to was Charlie Pride’s “The Crystal Chandelier”
Fusion (Bowties and Other Things)

I chose the bowtie as I have had some sitting here longing to be used for some time now. Here’s my card:
A simple sentiment by Paper Smooches, the sweet bow and lace picked up from a Dollar Store, and embossing thanks to a Darice folder.
Who knows, I may even make it an entire week creating and posting! I have a thank you card owed out so chose to marry making one with a challenge and this weeks Fusion Challenge Card - Embossed Ombre caught my interest. Here is the inspiration:

I promised myself I would use this 6 x 6 “dolled up” paper pad for another project while the patterns and colors inspire me. This challenge appealed:
I decided to go with both these prompts, choosing the floral paper and also employing the layered rectangle in the center.
Supplies include My Mind’s Eye “dolled up”, Studio G stamp and some cutouts I made using my Cameo
(I mimicked the flowers on the MME paper.)

Fitting another little creation into my day - as I enjoy the morning via the wonders of the internet with Nina and Judy, my family! Its wonderful to create, if not together at least at the same time.
I thought I’d like the color combo of the photo and I had the thought that I have just the right papers in my stash. Here’s what I did:
This card could go happily masculine or feminine.
SUPPLIES:

It came together nicely - I just made lots of layers, and elevated things using foam tape.
Which led me to a happy HAPPY discovery along the journey which I will share with you here:
RECOLOR (inexpensive) GEMS!
I found myself once again without a particular colored gem and thought ho-hummy, and thinking I now had to make an especial trip to the local dollar store and hope like mad they carry the color I want. Or, find an alternative for now and wait till I get to a real scrapbooking store in a larger center (one of the cons of living ruralish)
Then my brilliant little brain (it goes through phases haha!) -I hit the payload for I discovered that I could RECOLOR my inexpensive dollar store silver gems using either a sharpie or my TomBow markers! Woo hoo! The possibilities are endless!
I hope this idea inspires you and saves you some money even. I think what excites me is to know that I can custom colour my gems to almost identically match my TomBow coloring projects.
