Pineapples and Posies

My card is inspired by the Always Playing with Paper #78 challenge using this photo theme:

I struggled, I admit because I wanted to definately use a pineapple but had no stamps and didn’t feel like hand painting one.  My poor Silhouette Cameo has been neglected and so I decided to whip up a quick cut.  I love how fast it is to make a custom cut in the designer edition software.  It has saved my life a few times over. 

The designer paper scrap is from Colorbok. The stamps are all from Honey Bee Stamps I used Tombow Makers for coloring and shading on everything and added some sparkle with Gellyroll Clear Star. 

We had a most incredible rainbow here in Osoyoos yesterday!

Always Playing with Paper Card & 365 Photo of the Day

I’ll start off with the sweet and pretty and end up with… well, you’ll see. 

I decided to take up the Always Playing with Paper challenge today in between scads of “have to do” stuff. 

The paper is Recollections.  The die cut butterfly is Memory Box, the sentiment is Stampin’ Up.  I also embossed the upper butterfly part and used Stampin’ Up Pearlex to give it some shimmer.

And today’s 365 Photo of the Day:

Yeah, some days I feel like that – as if I’ve fallen down and just can’t get up.  Mebbe I’m just feeling a little sorry for myself today as I overdid it.  LOL!

Always Playing with Paper #18 Card

SO happy to be home sweet home after a month of gallivanting.  There’s nothing like time away to make your fonder of the place you’re planted, if you’re lucky enough to have a spot to always come back to and nest.  Had lovely sister time and visits with relatives and besides the refreshment of new scenery it always enriches and inspires me to travel. 

But now, my season is once again here at home.  And I’m delighted to jump back into my craft room, my happy little place!  I took up my first challenge with this:

I chose to go with the sketch rather than the colors, and I took the liberty to turn it on it’s side:

Always Playing with Paper Challenge #8

Wow, look at me GO!  Despite my head spinning around six hundred times with too much to do, I squeaked in yet another challenge card this week.  Amazing.

And I wound up with this creation:

I snagged that l♥vely couple shape from freevector.com and based the rest of my card around them.  I just kept layering cream and black layers, breaking it up with a bit of a paint chip in red to pinks to make an effective background - and I tilted my rectangle the opposite way to the sketch because I’m a bit rebellious at times.   I believe the designer paper was a recollections.
