Whew, yesterday was hard sloggin'! Thanks to all of you for your kindness and encouragement - it is so much easier to bear the hard times when freinds walk alongside you. Even you Gina, you reached out through your own grieving to comfort me, thats gotta be hard.
Kind words can be short and easy to speak
but their echoes are truly endless.
Proverbs 31:26 AMP
She opens her mouth with skillfull and godly wisdom,
and on her tongue is the law of kindness (giving counsel and instruction)
All of you had some very enlightening and helpful comments - and one thing is very clear - though we are blessed with a wonderful church, not all are... and if you are counting on your church to be your complete source of inspiration you are missing the point - after all, there are six other days in the week, and the church is made up of imperfect humans...
If you're short on time for bible study this week... here it is summed up in 5O words for you:
God made
Adam bit
Noah arked
Abraham split
Joseph ruled
Jacob fooled
Bush talked
Moses balked
Pharaoh plagued
People walked
Sea divided
Tablets guided
Promise landed
Saul freaked
David peeked
Prophets warned
Jesus born
God walked
Love talked
Anger crucified
Hope died
Love rose
Spirit flamed
Word spread
God remained.
HAPPY, HAPPY 50TH BIRTHDAY TO MY TWIN BROTHERS BILL AND BARRY TODAY! You are not old, you're antiques, to be valued and treasured!
I spent a quiet day getting my Christmas Cards out. Sonya helped me getting in the mood in the morning by chatting and lifting me up, while we pined for our Gina to come back ... Gina was 'resting her dogs' after her big tea ministry and was sleeping in. While we chatted, Sonya and I tuned into the same Christmas music station in San Jose which is not all that far from her home. It was sweet to listen to the same music at the same time. The station plays continuous Christmas songs, a lot of them the good oldies which had us oohing and ahhing and remembering long ago Christmasses of our childhood. You can listen to this station too - K-BAY She was 'enjoying' the station so much that her 3 yr old twins made her 'turn the music down, Mom, we can't hear our movie' LOL! These are a few holiday movies recommended by Sonya:
Mickey's Twice Upon a Christmas (very colourful)
It's a Wonderful Life
The Santa Clause

Miles was in the grocery store the other day and he espied two ladies who he sees at the gym walking into the bakery section of our local grocery store and see all the sweet baking items. He overhears this "just walk away... just WALK AWAY" as they turn and swiftly scoot back up the aisle.
Yesterday, when he teaching, his cell phone rang (he has one for the school, does not take personal calls there - lol) - so the phone rings and he answers it. Miles says hello, the caller says hesitates and says he is looking for "A" - Miles student. The caller says "I must have the wrong number, I was looking for "A" ... Miles says "Oh, thats ok, but "A" just happens to be sitting here" and he passes the phone over with a quirky grin and says "Its for YOU"... She speaks for several minutes and then hands the phone back and comments that was so odd... Its not till a bit later Miles and "A" discover they have identical cell phones, and he had answered hers...
On the radio this morning the announcers said that a woman in the USA had her 14 year old son ARRESTED for opening his gifts early...
Another woman in S. California was decorating her tree when she felt something sharp puncture her finger... thinking it was a needle or hook... only to discover it was a BAT - yep, the tree farm where it came from uses bats for pest control, poor lil feller musta got packed in. Bet he was just as afraid as her, he he. The bat was tested and did not have rabies. Is this sick... I think bats are sooooo cute! LOL
