be nice to your spouse
Actually, this advice comes from my husband, and I've tested it and found it to be true. If you would like your spouse to do something, or when making a request, or giving critique - wrap your arms around your spouse and gently, calmly make your statement. You will get a better response. Comments and requests made 'on the fly' with no eye or skin contact don't mean much.
